SOUTH LOS ANGELES COMMUNITY PLAN

The South Los Angeles Community Plan Area is one of three community plans that make up the South Los Angeles Planning Region. South LA is located three miles southwest of Downtown Los Angeles. The community is made up of several diverse neighborhoods a few include; Adams-Normandie, Angelus Vista, University Park, Exposition Park, Manchester Square, and Vermont Vista.

Plan Boundaries

South LA is bounded by Pico Boulevard to the north, Figueroa Street and Broadway to the east, 120th Street to the south, and Arlington Avenue and Van Ness Avenue to the west.

  • 15.4 square miles of land (9,881 acres)

  • Population: 270,354 (2010 Census)

  • Council Districts: 1, 8, 9, 10, 15

  • 10 Certified Neighborhood Councils
